The Dive Into Web Development
In the second semester of my Junior year of High
School, a close friend and I were bored together in class one day. We decided to get a cheap web
hosting plan and experiment with making websites. I started with a static landing page but knew
I had to learn Javascript to really make some cool apps. My first web app was a chatting service
which used PubNub as the backend and MySQL for the account system. I wanted to put it here on
the site but it is still in an unclean state. You can see it at https://www.chat.treyotech.com
Why Xyph Xpress
My friend wanted to make a collection of basic web
tools for the sake of learning and having our own tools we could trust instead of other apps. He
wanted to go by a "Xyph" naming scheme and I didn't object so we stuck with it. There are many
more tools at tools.treyotech.com
Nearly all of my apps use a MySQL backend and heavy use
of PHP. One of the few exceptions is the somewhat abandoned Node.JS and Paper.JS based Co-Op
drawing app running on a Linode server.
